a person is saying that a template of yours, free one, clan template 7 for being exactly (http://thedesignworld.com/downloads.php?subaction=showfull&id=1110854681&archive=&start_from=&ucat=14&)
it's of him, I don't know about ur copyrights on it, but I think u should make some thing about it.
it's a guy form www.wlihost.com (mark and jared) they are knowed as rippers speacially jared

These templates look nothing alike. I didnt even know of this site when I made this clan template. Lol by the looks of it he so jacked it from us. The header was just color changed with HUE. I could careless what people do to modify the templates, aslong as they link back to TheDesignWorld.
I say we go to his house, light a bag of poop, put the flaming bag of poop in front of his door, then ring the door bell and run. Then the nice kinda ripper will come out and put the flaming bag of poop out with his feet. Which gets poop all over his feet.
That will teach him not to change the colors around anymore. Nigga pls

Good luck K1, have no doubt you'll win, as everything WLI produces is either crap quality or ripped from somewhere else.
And you need to find a neutral place to get the votes done, preferribly a place where the members of wli are banned.

that wasn't the only template that he ripped off, a lot from gamerenders was stolen and he put them ON gamerenders as if they where from him :S
so so so so stupid... :roll: :roll:
about the modification he only put some brushes and HUE and that's all, at least he could modify it more :S
Well, that is illegal, and lawsuits could be filed. Not that we care, but it could be done.

tbh its dw's choice whether to sue em or whatever, but at the end of the day, theyre just some lame ass's who wont take the time to learn how to make templates themselves. Fair enough if they aint got the time, but jacking peoples work, and calling it their own.
Something happened kinda similar to this over at e107 where i help out. Some guy got all the e107 website themes and plugins (all free to download) then he just burnt them onto a disk, and sold them all for 20 bucks each!
As much as I hate it, there isn't much we can do. I'm not sure if sueing over a web template copyright will get us far. It's not right for someone to do that, but oh well.
And Jay, that sucks. Some people make me mad. :evil:

yeh it made a massive debate over on the forums, i mean putting all the work on a disk that they have for free, then having the cheek to advertise it on e107, thats as bad as it gets.
Well over on my site, im gonna make sure my tutorials are copyrighted and my images. But everything i do i usually put on the photoshop-graphix thats not removable. But still people shouldnt have to do that.
I think i will have a look at some copyrght laws and how to copyright your work.

it will be really helpfully to know how can u copyright something, like a template, cuz all this problems...may be u don't go so far for this template but there is a lot of people ripped by WLI and they would sue them with u ;) ... i think :P ...
You can copyright anything just by putting the copyright symbol next to it. That is the most basic form of copyrighting your work.
Patenting is a whole different thing.
TDW is not a registered a company so the files for download are not branded. But Mark is right, if you have a Copyright and a Terms of use Page, that user must obey those set rules. There is no point in sueing, if it becomes a large issue all you got to do is contact their web hosting company and get them shut down.

so basically, if i add a ŠJay661 at the bottom, and make .txt with the terms saying that it has to have ŠJay661 at the bottom, well they have to abide by it?
Thing is if they dont, then what proof have i got that i wrote the .txt etc
if you guys make a template print it out on your computer and then mail it to your self and put it away and dont opne it. that's called a poorman's copyright so that you can say hey i have this letter post marked by the fedreal gov that this was created before this day so that if anyone tries to rip you, you have proof that you made it first

dont they still have to abide by the rules of th owner... as in saying
'must have link back to my page' they have to do that. So from there, if you were to put in the read-me .txt, that ur sig. or what ever had to be on it, then they should abide by ur rules, after all, if it wasnt for you, they woulnt have it. :mrgreen:
