Well first you need a 3D abstract render, get one from the abstract renders section here on TDW and open it with photoshop.

.PNG files

Open the png file up in photoshop and you'll see it already has transparency, so press Ctrl+A to select everything, then copy and paste to a new document, the size of the image you want the render in.

Basic banner made with the faZe render.

.TIF files

In photoshop near the layers area there should be the Channels palette, if you don't have it go to Window > Channels

What you want to do is hold CTRL and click on the Alpha 1 channel, this will make a selection around it

Now you can copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it (Ctrl+V) into a new document and so some stuff with it!

I'll write a tutorial on how to make a nice design banner using 3D renders later on.
